The Dikiki na Fanihi, or Little Mariana Fruit Bat, was taken off the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s List of Endangered Species due to presumed extinction in 2023. The nectar of the Puting, or Fish Poison Tree, was a favorite food source for the little Fanihi. The pollen grains of the Puting tree are represented here in 10 micrometers of magnification, as seen through a scanning electron microscope.
